This coat is adorable and you can just feel the quality right away. It fit exactly as expected for a size 7.For warmth factor, I'd say it's comparable to a thin hoodie. Warmer than a poncho, but not as warm as others. Whether this will work for you would really depend on where you live. Summer Florida rain - too warm. A March rain in Minnesota - not warm enough. You can easily layer underneath to get as much warmth as you need, and there is definitely space in the arms to accommodate a sweatshirt or sweater. This would probably be most appropriate for the northern areas of the U.S. and Canada, or possibly for winter rains in the middle of the country, or for those who are very sensitive to cold and wet in the south. I imagine those in the north will find the most value in it though. The colors are vibrant and the pattern is very cute. The buttons are easy for little fingers to do by themselves. The liner is soft and comfortable on bare skin. Overall we are very pleased with this purchase and will definitely be checking out Hatley products again for future needs.I have had these raincoats for all three of my children. They are well made and have the most adorable prints. The quality is worth the cost because they can be passed down through multiple children. It fit well and he looked adorable in it. It wasn’t too long and once he got a look it was the first thing he wanted to try on. The patterns also fascinated him. So far a great product kept him warm and dry during the rains. As to durability, just got it so take it with a grain of salt. It seems durable at the moment.Great raincoat. Well made, comfortable and keeps kids dry.Hatley raincoats are the best! The terrycloth interior is so much nicer than the plastic feel of other raincoats. I’ve been buying these for my kids for over 10 years now. My oldest son was so sad when he got too big for the Hatley kids coats. I bought this one (the blue dinosaur) for my youngest who is obsessed with dinosaurs. They really do change color in the rain. These are great quality raincoats that will last until your kid grows out of them, and can be passed on to younger siblings.I love these Hatley raincoats. My son's first one was a hand me down from a dear friend. But I bought another one after he grew out of it. They're not only water proof, but lined so that it's actually warm enough to wear as a stand alone jacket on early spring or fall mornings when it's cold, wet, and rainy. Love the designs. I've gotten so many compliments from other adults on them.Love this jacket. The color and pattern is great and the extra layer of lining keeps my son warm. We get a lot of compliments on this jacket. Washes well too!Perfect for my train/tractor/bus loving little two year old. I actually bought him a different raincoat before but he just didn’t like the way it felt in his face or body. This raincoat/jacket is perfect - the print is clear and gorgeous. The feel and weight is warm and comforting. Even though my little one is on the smaller side body wise this jacket sits beautifully on him and has room to grow with him! Highly recommended!updated review:The raincoat has been great over spring/summer but after a couple of trips in heavy rain recently it has leaked badly at the seam at the back of the neck. Probably fine for showers, but no good for 'proper' rain - a real shame at this price, and disappointing as previous versions haven't had this problem.(original review)Love the Hatley raincoat range. Actually waterproof, without that awful plasticy feeling and crinkly noise (my son refuses to wear most waterproofs). Also love the terry toweling lining, no horrible cold material on the back of your neck :)I find these a little on the big side, but to be honest that's a bonus as you can fit a jumper underneath if it's cool and it stops cold wet hands!!Love these coats, Iv'e had them in 2y,4y,6y,8y,&10y now, all different designs, Grandchildren love them, I buy a size bigger so it lasts them 2 years and then when he grows out of it it gets passed down to his brother. Still in perfect condition wash brilliant. So value for money is excellent. The eldest is 9 and he wears a 10y and his brother is 5 and he fits the 6y. I have to turn the sleeve back at first but still looks lovely on.my little grandson is three and i bought the 5 year old size as he is very tall. it has a lot of turn up on the sleeves which shows the snug terry lining which is throughout the jacket. its not very long which is a shame because if the rain is heavy the child is not very covered.lovely quality from hatley buy a lot from this range as the quality is very good and the designs are such fun so child is happy and parents/grandparents are also happy.i can see hm getting two winters out of this and it getting passed on and still looking goodWhat little boy or girl wouldn't love a coat covered with tractors??? Our great-nephew certainly loves this one.For parents, you should be aware that this is a fully waterproof coat. It's not really for summer use at all. Gets quite hot.On the other hand, it's very well made, with quality finishes and good detailing.OK, I admit that tractors aren't every child's thing (some may prefer something pinker, for example), but if they are, this is a must-have item.Bought this for my nephew who's VERY picky and doesn't like coats. Luckily for me he loves dinosaurs and has no objections when I take him to school and tell him he needs to wear it because the forecast is rain that day. Hatley never disappoints. It's strong material and has lining inside the coat. My daughter has another pink Hatley coat which she loves too. Just wish Hatley did raincoats for grown ups too so I could wear one
