Simply lay your wooden cutting board flat overnight, on a different flat side each night, to prevent warping.If it is warped already, lay it convex side up, until it flattens out.I took one star off because, at this price range, the groove should have been smooth.It is not, and so captures paper towel shards.If I pat the groove with the paper towel (instead of wiping with) the shards problem is solved.Pat, don't wipe.It does look beautiful enough to be a conversation starter. It makes for an elegant platter for crackers-and-cheese, hors d'oeuvres, and so on.It seems to lose its oil sheen rather quicky, though; I have had to oil it at least once a week.The round board has an enormous cutting surface (yay circle geometry!).It also doubles as a pizza / flatbread dough rolling surface.I find that rinsing it under the faucet immediately after use makes it easier than doing it later, when food has dried on it. Immediate rinsing also seems to help with reducing food stains.The knicks from the knife seem to heal in a few days.Overall, the product meets expectations, though it needs loving care.I love my Boos walnut board, wanted this small round to match. The color is not a rich brown as I wanted. John Boos much prettier. Does not match even after using expensive coconut oil.I like to change out my cutting board twice a year because I use it so much. But I think I have found one that will last me awhile. I like that it is oval and it stays on my counter so easy. When I first got it I did as they recommend. I oiled it down good with coconut oil. It's so easy to clean and maintain. It cuts on so smoothly. it maded from good durable materials.This is a nice cutting board. I purchased this specifically to go inside a Rubbermaid cake dish so that when we cut cakes / bread it won't cut or mar the plastic container. I can take the board out and clean it. The cutting board is the perfect shape for my use and is made from a good quality wood. I will say that the board did not come treated and I had to treat initially upon receipt. This was not an issue for me, as I applied coconut oil to it and now it functions and looks beautiful. I also received a nice email and a personalized note from the seller. Nice board and good quality. I would definitely purchase other boards from these sellers.UPDATE: After using this board for about two years and only quickly rinsing with a mild soap (Palmolive), this board cracked. I reached out to Virginia Boys Kitchens and they were FANTASTIC. Promptly sent me a new board. Excellent customer service and completely stand by their warranty. I would (and will) highly recommend them.This board is very beautiful and it's clear that the craftsmanship is excellent. Wish it came with board butter, but thankfully I have some at home. Definitely needs board butter to deepen the color to a true beautiful walnut.For starters, unlike many of the other reviews I see on here, I simply purchased this for my own use. As mentioned (briefly) in the description, the board comes unfinished. The rich, dark color you see in pretty much all the photos here is something you will have to achieve on your own. My board arrived as an almost white, plain and unfinished wood. The quality of the finished smoothness was 'average' and to be specific, I expected a higher level of smoothness on the surface and edges. . It struck me as being milled or routed quickly and turned over to shipping. This is not something you will open up and serve on that evening. Can this be made into a smooth, well-finished, high quality serving board? Of course, it's a piece of wood and you can do anything to it with enough effort. If you look at the cutting boards on Amazon, and you want something that is exactly as rich, lustrous, well-finished and smooth (and exactly as it as it appears in the photos), I suggest you look into an Ironwood cutting board.Virginia Boys customer service is charming and prompt, and I have no issues with the business whatsoever.The round cutting board by Virginia Boys Kitchen is 10.5 inches in diameter and is absolutely beautiful, even before it is seasoned. It’s made in the USA and once seasoned, the dark chocolate brown color is simply amazing.The board is a little on the expensive side, but it’s worth every penny if you’re a cheese lover. It’s great to use for both slicing cheeses as well as serving them. There’s plenty of room on the board, so it’s possible to have a collection of cheeses, as well as various other items, too.The board is non-porous, making it soft on knife edges. It also has a juice drip groove, which can be helpful when slicing meat or anything else that may have liquid.What’s great about the cheese cutting board is that it is delivered unseasoned. Virginia Boys Kitchen provides a finishing wax stick so that it can be seasoned.I've been searching for a really good cutting board for ages. I love this board.
