Under Armour Boys' ColdGear Jacket - Insulated Winter Coat for Kids, Water-Resistant & Warm Hooded Jacket - Perfect for Snow Play, Skiing & Outdoor Activities

I got this for my son who is "too cool" to wear a heavy winter coat. He claims he won't wear the heavy ones because he can't play basketball in them at recess, but I digress. I was trying to get the least bulky but warmest jacket I could for winter so that at least he would wear some sort of coat this year. This coat has been really good for all that. I will say, there are times when some of these brand name sports clothes are hideous and gaudy (in my opinion), but this is not. It fits well, isn't fluorescent yellow, and looks really nice on him. The zipper is amazing. He's not so good with fine motor skills and this is super easy for him. My one complaint is how the ends of the arms are. I expected something elastic that wouldn't let cold air in. Instead, the opening is rigid. He has to squeeze his hands through and then there is a gap at his wrists that never closes because of how it was designed. If there is a purpose for this, I can't figure it out. The thing that I was most surprised about is that the jacket is actually warm. Even though it's lightweight, he says he can't feel any cold air getting through. Makes me much happier than the hooded sweatshirts he wore all last winter. Overall, I am super happy we ordered this jacket. Because he loves it, he actually wears a coat this winter!My son LOVES the jacket, I'm a little concerned as it is paper thin and we get some very cold winters here in PA. All the lines and stitching were very clean and nicely done. The jacket itself is high quality, GREAT stuff. The zipper is magnetic, first time I seen a zipper like this which was kinda cool makes for easy pull and less likely to get stuck. The color very vivid and pops.The elastic around the wrist and bottom very nice quality, stretches with you which I like. The jacket does run true to size, we ordered a size bigger to allow my son to grow into it but even with it being a little big, I do feel it does run true to size. Again, even with it being a tad big you would still be able to wear a sweater/sweatshirt under this and have some room even if you ordered the correct size. I do like that the jacket isn't super bulky but I do wish it did have some weight to it. My son really loves the jacket soooo I'm going to keep it, based off previous reviews, talking with others and the tags attached from Under Armour I'm told not too be too concerned with it being so thin, I'm praying this is true.My son really loves this coat. It is warm and looks great. My only issue would be (and this has been mentioned in other reviews) the zipper. I can still get it to work however it will unzip from the bottom sometimes.Ordered Royal blue. Looks just like the color pictured. My sons favorite coat. Not a really heavy which is why he likes it, but still keeps him warm.My son loves the blue jacket. However, I noticed after wearing a few times it has patches of that are discolored. Blue became purple. Anybody else have this happen?My son likes it. Perfect for the coldest days in Houston....It's a bit light weight for colder weather.My son loves this coat. Dont be alarm when you see how thin it is, cause its suppose to be. Its design to be thin but very warm. My son loves that it thin and he can play in it comfortable cause not bulky. Nice vibrant color.Bought it for my almost 9 year old son's Christmas present from his grandmother. He loves the color and that it's a "puffy coat" without the bulk to keep him warm and still be able to throw a football or shout a basketball, etc. We got the 10-12 size and it fits now with room to grow into too.great coat fitted perfect
